This is an incomplete, continuously updated list of inspiring links on the topic of AI.
I see a lot of negativity around AI from people outside the field. *'What is it doing for us? How will this change our lives for the better instead of enriching a few individuals?'*. I see a lot of negativity within the field as well, 'doomers' as some people call them, individuals despairing that AI causes an existential threat to humanity.
Neither of these points of view are illegitimate, but after conversations with friends, I was inspired to start collating links of awesome positive examples of AI. To inspire us all to dream of a better future. By first dreaming it, we can then begin making it real! The list is especially focused on individual empowerment, lowering barriers to entry, protecting and healing humanity and the ecosystems we live in; I add to it as I stumble upon new links. The AI produced shortlists of leads; after expert review and confirmatory testing, doctors landed 18 new diagnoses.

Hugging Face and Sage Bionetworks are running it as a hackathon, $50k in prizes from Anthropic and AWS.

- https://ecdsa.fail/ -- Google found a far cheaper quantum attack on the cryptography behind Bitcoin and most of the web, then hid the method behind a zero-knowledge proof. Gautham Anant, 22 and taking an intro quantum computing course, aimed swarms of AI agents at the literature and opened a public leaderboard: 8 hours to match Google, 72 to beat them.
